Pre-school visit to the farm

Children from Stoke Gabriel pre-school got close to nature when they visited the new born lambs at a local farm.

Walking to Higher Well Farm, on the outskirts of the village, the children were very excited. Farmer John Ball greeted them before showing the children the new born lambs and the heavily pregnant cows.  Kate Peakman, acting supervisor, said: “We come to the farm every year at this time and the children love it.  It is a great opportunity for them to see the animals close up and get a real sense of what a farm is like.”

There was no doubt however, that the biggest hit of the day was the opportunity to sit on the tractor!

Stoke Gabriel pre-school has places for children age two and a half to four years old. Call 01803 782155 for more information.

Photo right: Emily Addison, age three and a half enjoyed sitting on the tractor the best.
